Eu sei que desde a \u201ccomemora\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d do \u201cdia do \u00edndio\u201d das escolas, essa indument\u00e1ria \u00e9 vista como um simples enfeite de papel. Um sinal, junto com as tinturas na cara e um arremedo de comportamento nativo, de que est\u00e1vamos relembrando esse grande folclore que foi a exist\u00eancia dos ind\u00edgenas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bom, eu sei que isso vai ser chocante, mas, contra todos os esfor\u00e7os desde 1500, os povos ind\u00edgenas continuam existindo (licen\u00e7a para te lembrar que 305 etnias foram registradas no \u00faltimo censo<\/a> no Brasil). E descontextualizar seus signos e dilu\u00ed-los em uma cultura etnocida \u00e9 apropria\u00e7\u00e3o cultural<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Por qu\u00ea, cara p\u00e1lida?<\/p>\n\n\n

Porque cocar carrega significado. Cocar n\u00e3o \u00e9 chap\u00e9u.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cocar pode ser sinal de responsabilidade <\/strong>and respeito<\/strong>, com uso limitado a pessoas de certas posi\u00e7\u00f5es sociais (por exemplo, caciques, tuxauas, paj\u00e9s); pode ser parte de ritos de liga\u00e7\u00e3o com ancestrais<\/strong> e com a natureza; ou tamb\u00e9m de festividades <\/strong>daquele povo. Como ind\u00edgenas n\u00e3o s\u00e3o uma massa homog\u00eanea, cada povo usa e confecciona adornos \u00e0 sua maneira. N\u00e3o existe um tipo de cocar universal, e eles podem identificar a na\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong> a qual tal ind\u00edgena pertence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cocar, para ind\u00edgenas, \u00e9 sinal de orgulho<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usar um cocar enquanto fantasia, \u201crecrea\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d ou enquanto n\u00e3o-ind\u00edgena querendo \u201chonrar\u201d povos nativos faz justamente o oposto: desrespeita, banaliza e deslocaliza a hist\u00f3ria desses povos, que lutam para manter a sua cultura viva, mesmo com as interven\u00e7\u00f5es externas. Al\u00e9m disso, transforma ind\u00edgenas em um mito que se perdeu no passado, um aglomerado que pode ser reduzido a dois ou tr\u00eas s\u00edmbolos.<\/p>\n\n\n

O inc\u00f4modo de grupos que det\u00eam e deram seu significado n\u00e3o deveria ser o suficiente para que pessoas de fora desse grupo n\u00e3o o usem?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(Se a preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o for mesmo honrar ind\u00edgenas, existem outros apetrechos que n\u00e3o carregam tanta simbologia e que s\u00e3o confeccionados e comercializados por nativos, como brincos, colares, pulseiras, cachimbos e afins. Comprar diretamente desses povos \u00e9 uma maneira de perpetuar a sua sobreviv\u00eancia. S\u00f3 n\u00e3o esque\u00e7a de se dar ao trabalho de saber de que etnia tu est\u00e1s comprando.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A insist\u00eancia em usar um objeto sagrado de maneira \u201crecreativa\u201d e descontextualizada por puro desejo pessoal<\/em> \u00e9 apenas uma demonstra\u00e7\u00e3o de poder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Se nas ruas e festas de metr\u00f3poles, festivais de m\u00fasicas ou fotos de redes sociais, o cocar te faz parecer uma pessoa \u201cdescolada\u201d, longe desses espa\u00e7os os ind\u00edgenas que os usam com orgulho carregam um alvo em suas costas, que o Estado, interessado na sua morte e na morte de sua cultura, est\u00e1 de olho.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
