E n\u00e3o falo de quando ela designa grupos de pessoas com afinidades, como acontece com as <em>tribos urbanas<\/em>, que funcionam como nichos de consumos. Ali\u00e1s, at\u00e9 a\u00ed o substantivo j\u00e1 se tornou composto, porque a palavra sozinha sustenta outra ideia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"6719\">\u201cTribo\u201d, em geral, descreve povos que, sob o olhar contempor\u00e2neo e ocidental, <strong>ficaram no passado<\/strong>. Existe uma superioridade intr\u00ednseca no seu uso, de uma narrativa com a qual nos acostumamos, e a normaliza\u00e7\u00e3o desse discurso torna o seu ju\u00edzo de valor quase impercept\u00edvel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"8d1c\">Na m\u00eddia, quando se fala de \u201ctribos de \u00edndios\u201d, por exemplo, \u00e9 para mostrar aqueles que <em>foram dizimados<\/em>, ou que <strong><em>s\u00e3o primitivos<\/em> e pararam no tempo<\/strong> em uma suposta linha evolutiva. Grupos de pessoas que vivem isoladas e s\u00f3 podem ser vistas como selvagens ou animais em extin\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/v2\/resize:fit:697\/1*LpGc-JvmVKP9QP4JTyqoAA.png\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Com que frequ\u00eancia sociedades europeias s\u00e3o chamadas de \u201ctribos\u201d?<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p id=\"33b4\">Silenciosamente, o uso dessa palavra refor\u00e7a a percep\u00e7\u00e3o de que ind\u00edgenas s\u00e3o um subgrupo de pessoas. Um pensamento que n\u00e3o se baseia em novidade alguma, e que apenas pavimentou o caminho, h\u00e1 s\u00e9culos atr\u00e1s, de que havia justificativa para viol\u00eancia e escraviza\u00e7\u00e3o dos colonizadores que chegaram aqui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"7489\">O que surpreende, no entanto, \u00e9 como essa no\u00e7\u00e3o perdura at\u00e9 hoje.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ea7b\"><mark>O escritor Daniel Munduruku <\/mark><mark><a href=\"http:\/\/radios.ebc.com.br\/cotidiano\/edicao\/2015-04\/escritor-indigena-explica-diferenca-entre-indio-e-indigena\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">ressalta<\/a><\/mark><mark> que tanto o uso de \u201ctribo\u201d como de \u201c\u00edndio\u201d s\u00e3o incorretas, carregadas de estigma e de preconceito \u2014 afinal, para ind\u00edgenas \u201ca identidade \u00e9 revelada pelo lugar onde pertencem\u201d.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ec7d\">No imagin\u00e1rio popular, o \u201c\u00edndio\u201d \u00e9 uma figura uniforme no Brasil inteiro: possui uma determinada apar\u00eancia, n\u00e3o sabe falar a l\u00edngua portuguesa direito e anda nu, ou s\u00f3 de tanguinha \u2014 tudo um indicativo da sua selvageria. Sem contar que essa palavra \u00e9 errada desde que os colonizadores pisaram aqui. Quem lembra que os portugueses acharam estar na <em>\u00cdndia <\/em>e, portanto, resolveram chamar de \u00edndios os habitantes daqui?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"99c4\"><strong>\u201c\u00cdndio\u201d tamb\u00e9m n\u00e3o traduz a diversidade entre os povos ind\u00edgenas<\/strong>, onde cada na\u00e7\u00e3o possui seus pr\u00f3prios costumes e cren\u00e7as, e habitam diferentes lugares dessa extens\u00e3o territorial conhecida como Brasil.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/v2\/resize:fit:700\/1*j_alRtfpbQE7IYJQ9ivwzw.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>Ind\u00edgena Kayap\u00f3 \u2014 foto por Thiago Gomes \/ Ag. Par\u00e1<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p id=\"9229\">Ent\u00e3o por que insistimos em falar dessa maneira? Parece bobagem, mas nossas palavras podem ou n\u00e3o d\u00e3o continuidade a hist\u00f3rias discriminat\u00f3rias e etnocentristas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"ef29\">N\u00e3o se deve perder de vista que os povos ind\u00edgenas funcionam como na\u00e7\u00f5es, no sentido de que possuem autonomia sobre os seus costumes, pr\u00e1ticas e funcionamentos \u2014 ou ao menos deveria ser assim, como \u00e9 garantido por lei e pela constitui\u00e7\u00e3o brasileira. Portanto, o ideal \u00e9 sempre se referir ao ind\u00edgena pelo nome de seu povo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"2e69\">Ent\u00e3o, e se no lugar de dizer \u201ccomprei esse artesanato de um \u00edndio\u201d, tu te preocupares em perguntar a na\u00e7\u00e3o a que ele pertence? E assim poder dizer \u201cComprei esse artesanato de um Xukuru\/Sater\u00e9 Mawe\/Tupinamb\u00e1.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"597d\">Que tal, em vez de falar da \u201ctribo Yanomami?\u201d, falar \u201cdo povo\/a na\u00e7\u00e3o Yanomami\u201d?
